How the Enneagram Helped Me Understand Myself and Inspired a New Chapter

Hi, I’m Megan, a mom, educator, furniture flipper, mystery book lover, and Enneagram enthusiast. I’ve spent the last decade working in higher education, helping students and professionals grow with intention and confidence. And now, I’m in the midst of a new chapter myself, making a career pivot into the world of data analytics.
You could say I’m someone who loves understanding how things work, whether it’s a spreadsheet, a personality, or a process.
That’s part of what drew me to the Enneagram.
I first learned about it from a friend, and like any true Type 5 (the Investigator), I went down the rabbit hole. The more I read, the more it resonated. It wasn’t just insightful, it was transformative. The Enneagram helped me make sense of patterns I’d been living in for years. It gave me language for both my strengths and my struggles. It showed me where I hide, how I protect myself, and where I have room to grow.
Eventually, I started working with a therapist who was also an Enneagram coach, and the insight deepened even more. Since then, I’ve used the Enneagram as a tool in everyday life: in my relationships, my work, and in my own self-leadership. I don’t see it as a label but as a map, one that helps me move toward wholeness and intention.
One of my favorite quotes is by Jim Rohn: “If you don’t like where you are, move. You are not a tree.” That mindset has been essential in my journey. The Enneagram helped me see the places I was stuck and reminded me that growth is always possible.
That’s why I’m so excited to be teaching at Thrive and Unwind in November 2025. I’ll be leading Enneagram sessions designed to help you explore your inner wiring, understand your motivations, and start making real shifts toward alignment and connection.
Working alongside Liz and Rachel, the heart-led women behind this retreat, is such a gift. Their passion for helping others grow from the inside out is exactly why this experience is unlike anything else.

If you're ready to pause, reflect, and reconnect with yourself, I’d love to meet you in Cancun.
